This is an exciting opportunity in Daventry, for a Quality Engineer

Cummins UK is where you can work on industry leading engineering projects such as contributing to test quality standards for next generation engines and generator sets with relation emissions, acoustics and CE legislation. This opportunity is also a genuine chance to learn and develop in a global organization. Reporting to the Senior Quality Engineer, the Quality Engineer is also responsible for Production support for both Gensets and Engine testing.

Your impact will be seen in these and other ways:

  • Plan, co-ordinate and execute Daventry engine emissions compliance to meet internal and external requirements (EPA)

  • Plan, co-ordinate and execute Daventry Genset Acoustic compliance schedule to meet internal and external requirements (CE certification)

  • Work with subject matter experts to ensure both engine emissions and genset acoustics data for Daventry built products comply with regulatory requirements.

  • Lead and support compliance continuous improvement initiatives benefitting both DAV & Power Systems

  • Quarterly present & provide feedback of Daventry compliance progress to senior management

  • Responsible for KPI data analysis of Genset Testing with regards to Right First Time %

  • Responsible for applicable systems related to plant customer issues such as corrective action requests, supplier corrective action requests, nonconforming material reports, etc.

  • Leads containment activities.

  • Facilitates continuous improvement quality activities to reduce the potential for defects, and ensures continual improvement in process and product design.

  • Ensures products and process development meet quality standards.

  • Identifies problems, prioritizes actions, leads or participates in Six Sigma projects.

  • Participates in change management activities by verifying products and processes, developing key measures, and analysing data for decision support.

  • Conducts audits of processes and quality systems.

  • Supervisor to Quality Technicians, managing and advising where necessary

  • Serve as a quality technical resource to other functional areas.

Qualifications

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Experience working with or technical knowledge of engines and/or Generator Sets

  • Equally some experience with quality engineering and systems (PPAP, FMEA, 7 step) would be considered.

Required Education, Licenses or Certifications

  • HNC or relevant engineeringqualification preferred

Compensation and Benefits

Salary from £29,431 to £35,970.

Potential bonus to 8%.
